Saengsawan, is an orphanage in Nakhon Sawan, its name translates as Bright Light but has the implied meaning of ‘Hope for the Future”.

What is BCTFN?

BCTFN is a fund-raising organisation for Thai charities in Thailand. It is British inspired but is supported by many other nationalities. The main fund-raising event for BCTFN is Ploenchit Fair, an annual charity event held in Bangkok.

The Rural Area Medical Aid Foundation (RAMA) is a Charity under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. So far, 52 provinces and 232,624 patients.

 

People Eye Care Foundation

On one of their bi-annual visits, a PECF team of ophthalmic surgeons & nurses etc comes to Mae Ai Hospital (Chiang Mai) covering a wide surrounding area, including many isolated hill tribes.

People Eye Care Foundation

A PECF (People Eye Care Foundation) team of ophthalmic surgeons (usually headed by Dr. Somsran Watanachote but who was unfortunately ill in hospital) together with nurses, porters and general assistants (the latter included my cousin Sharon Skovron and myself - Gale Bailey, Committee Member, BCTFN) arrived in Mae Ai, Chiang Mai Province on the evening on 19 April 2008 in readiness for their twice yearly visit.  Mae Ai Hospital covers a wide surrounding area, including many isolated hill tribes.

Poor Joop Jang & Rickets Disease

December 2009 has evolved as a particularly stressful month for our Baan Piranan project. One of our very dear resident children has decided to frequently express himself via fecal play, and as unpleasant as this may sound, it has proven to be even more unpleasant for our staff and our other children….our staff who has had to clean up the mess, and our other children who often become the canvas on which this child expresses himself.
