BCTFN is a fund-raising organisation for Thai charities in Thailand. It is British inspired but is supported by many other nationalities. The main fund-raising event for BCTFN is Ploenchit Fair, an annual charity event held in Bangkok.
Wat Sakeow looks after over 1,200 orphaned and disadvantaged children. As much as the Wat tries to take care of them all and provide a good education, the children often go without those things that other, luckier children take for granted. BCTFN has supported Wat Sakeow's efforts for many years with cash donations and other donations such as food, toiletries, clothes and footwear.
As part of its project management duties and also to provide some light relief for the children at Wat Sakeow, BCTFN Committee Members and friends travel to Ayuttaya every year. Essential items are carried to the Wat school and on the day, Committee Members provide and serve lunch to the children. Not an easy feat when there are over 1200 of them (children, not Committee Members!).
